Procedure
Several small injections of dermal filler are given using a very fine needle. Because the lips are a highly sensitive part of the body, anaesthesia is usually recommended before lip enhancement. All the products we use contain the local anaesthetic lidocaine to numb the lips, so the treatment is virtually pain free and only takes 20-40 minutes.
It is normal to experience some mild swelling, and on rare occasions some soreness or mild bruising, following the treatment, but this usually resolves itself after a day or two. It can be reduced by applying a cold compress on the lips for ten minutes immediately after the treatment.
Over time the product will gradually dissolve away naturally, leaving your lips the same as before the treatment. Results will last increasingly longer the more treatments you have.

Is any pre-treatment care necessary?
No pre-treatment care is needed but you may choose to take arnica tablets 7 days beforehand in order to reduce any bruising. It is also advisable to avoid taking any fish oil supplements around the time of your treatment.

What are the after-effects of lip enhancement?
Your lips will be slightly swollen afterwards and there may be bruising on or around the lips. This will mainly settle over the next 12 hours.

How soon can I return to work?
Depending on the type of lip enhancement treatment you have, you should be able to return to work the following day.

Is there any post-treatment advice?
The application of a cold compress is recommended for the first day or so. For the first six hours after the treatment you should avoid touching the treated area, then the area can be gently washed with soap and water, and you can apply light make-up.

Lip enhancement treatment results are instant.

How long will the results last?
The results last between four and six months, and sometimes longer.

Can I have repeat treatments?
Repeat treatments can be carried out without any long-term effect to the lips.
